Le Macie farmhouse is in the sienese Chianti region, at only 10 km from Siena, and can be reached with public transportation.
The village of Vagliagli is at just 1.5 km and has a grocery store, a pharmacy, a bar, an excellent restaurant and a wine merchant.
Le Macie is an ideal base to visit Tuscany and its treasures:
Siena, Florence, Arezzo, San Giminiano, Pienza, the Chianti, Montalcino, the abbacies of S. Antimo, S. Galgano and Monte Oliveto, the spas of Rapolano, Bagnovignoni and Saturnia, and the Tyrrhenian Sea, with the Argentario peninsula and the Maremma National Park. |

HOW TO REACH US
From the north (Milan, Venice, Bologna, and the Dolomites):
- Drive south on the A1 until the exit of Firenze-Certosa, follow the signs to Siena and exit at Siena-Nord.
- At the first junction turn left and follow the signs to Castellina in Chianti.
- After 2 km turn right to Vagliagli.
- After 9 km, turn right on a dirt road (sign to Pianella) and take the first road on the left until you reach the gate of Le Macie.
- From the south (Rome, Naples):
- Drive north on the A1 until the exit Valdichiana, follow the signs to Siena and exit at Siena-Nord.
- At the first junction turn left and follow the signs to Castellina in Chianti.
- After 2 km turn right to Vagliagli.
- After 9 km, turn right on a dirt road (sign to Pianella) and take the first road on the left until you reach the gate of Le Macie.
